FRAUD ALERT! Government Warns of A Syndicate Defrauding Job Seekers

The public has been alerted by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to scammers preying on Kenyans looking for jobs as rangers within the organization
The public has been alerted by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to scammers preying on Kenyans looking for jobs as rangers within the organization.
KWS said in a statement on Thursday, April 25, that the con artists are charging naive Kenyans to receive phony calling letters.
The service pointed out that, in line with media advertisements, the KWS hiring procedure is free of charge.
“The attention of Kenya Wildlife Service has been drawn to fake calling letters being issued by fraudsters,” the KWS statement read in part.
It added, “As stated in the advert and at all recruitment centers, the recruitment process was free of charge. Kaa Chonjo, Usidanganywe.”
Kenyans were urged by KWS to report the issue to the closest KWS or police station.
“We strongly advise the public to be vigilant of the fake letters and report the fraudsters to the nearest KWS Station or Police Station,” the service stated.

This occurred just a few days after KWS recruited 1,500 rangers and cadets nationwide.
The hiring period started on Monday, April 15, and ended on Friday, April 19, at various locations around the 47 counties.
President William Ruto instructed the KWS recruitment officials to give National Youth Service (NYS) graduates preference on April 12.
Ruto stated that receiving the necessary training will provide them with the chance to serve.
“In that recruitment plan, I have directed that we must ensure that the majority of those given priority are our young people who have graduated from NYS. We want those young people from NYS to get an opportunity to serve, as I instructed in matters of the security sector,” Ruto stated.
