Gachagua accuses President Ruto of consistently lying to Kenyans
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has requested Kenyans to forgive him for supporting President William Ruto in the 2022 general elections.
Addressing the residents of Kiserian in Kajiado County on Thursday afternoon, Gachagua accused the Head of State of consistently lying to Kenyans by making false promises.
According to the former DP, just like other Kenyans, the President also deceived him into supporting and voting for the current administration.
While hitting out at the government, Gachagua promised to rally the support of all Kenyans to dismiss President Ruto from the top government role.
“I urge you to forgive me. The guy also deceived me; he came as a Christian, with a Bible, only for me to realise he was a wolf clothed as a sheep,” Gachagua commented.
“He deceived us, and now the country is full of lies. He lied that he would give us money, yet he came back and took the little we had from us,” he added.
During the rally, Gachagua also announced that he would formally launch his political party in May, adding that the party would mainly be led by members chosen by Kenyans.
The former DP further noted that his political party would front candidates in all the electoral seats, from the presidency to the Member of County Assembly (MCA).

“We have decided to form our political party, and the party would be led by people from Kajiado. The party would be announced in the fifth month of this year,” the former DP said.
“The party will front candidates in all the political seats, from the president, gubernatorial position, senator, Member of Parliament and the MCA,” he added.
Since his impeachment in October last year, Gachagua has been a major critic of President Ruto’s administration, accusing it of several wrongdoings, including failing to resolve critical issues affecting Kenyans.
However, his criticism of the administration has recently been marred by tension and chaos, with the latest incident witnessed at the ACK Cathedral in Nyeri Town, where youths blocked the former DP from leaving the church premises.
In the incident that took place on Sunday, March 23, police officers were forced to intervene after goons gathered outside the church, waiting to confront the former DP.
