Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has announced that the DCP Party will be launched in July.

Speaking in Narok, on Monday, June 23, the former DP added that the event would take place in either Kajiado or Narok County.

He explained that he settled on the two locations after being frustrated by the government. Initially, the former DP stated that he wanted to launch his party in Nairobi.

“We want to launch it in Nairobi, but Ruto has refused. I want to ask that you allow us to hold this event in Maa,” he stated.

“I want to ask that they look for a ground where the event will be held. You know, they have always sent goons to disrupt our meetings, and they can’t try that here.”

Initially, the DCP party was to be launched at Kasarani gymnasium on June 3.

However, they were denied access to the venue days before the event.

We are also not taking further bookings due to preparations for the upcoming Championships for African Nations (CHAN 2025) to be hosted within the complex,” Sports Kenya explained in a letter dated May 21.

On the other hand, the former DP maintained that he was in the presidential race.

He stated that he would be working alongside like-minded leaders to form a coalition that will guarantee their win in 2027.

Gachagua detailed that he would embark on a charm offensive to encourage Kenyans to come out in large numbers to vote out the current regime.

“I want a 99.9 per cent voter turnout. The first thing is to vote out Ruto, and the second thing is to elect a new President,” he remarked.
