Gachagua is not the solution to Kenya’s problems – Raila

Raila Odinga, has taken a swipe at Rigathi Gachagua, claiming that the former Deputy President is not a better option for the presidency.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Raila Odinga, has taken a swipe at Rigathi Gachagua, claiming that the former Deputy President is not a better option for the presidency.
Speaking on Saturday afternoon at a funeral service in Bomet, Odinga noted that even if Gachagua became the president, he would not bring any meaningful change to the country.
He revealed that Gachagua’s past performance as the country’s second Deputy President showed no evidence of proper leadership, and argued that making him Ruto’s replacement would not bring any improvements to the country.
“Even if you make Rigathi Gachagua the next president, there is no big difference he will bring to this country. We need to do things afresh,” Raila commented.
Odinga, in his speech, stated that the current challenges facing the nation could not be solved by a single person and that finding a lasting solution required the input of every Kenyan.
He also expressed his support for the youth but warned against the infiltration of youthful protests by goons seeking to destroy the nation and loot property.
Odinga further cautioned Kenyans against being used by politicians to fulfil their agendas. According to Raila, making chants like ‘Ruto Must Go’ was not the solution to the country’s challenges.
“We know that our Constitution has some minor gaps that need to be addressed. That is the reason I told Kenyans that now is the right time for us to hold a national conversation,” the former Prime Minister reiterated.
“We should talk so that we can know where the problem is. Protests and chants of ‘Ruto Must Go’ will not solve the problems. Even if Ruto leaves office, it will not solve the challenges,” he added.

Raila’s scathing attack on the former DP comes hours after Gachagua dismissed Odinga’s call for a national dialogue to address the country’s challenges.
Gachagua, who was addressing Kenyans living in the United States, argued that the ODM party leader had previously engaged in similar talks without producing tangible results.
According to Gachagua, the former Prime Minister is irrelevant in the current political discourse, further describing Odinga as an ‘opportunistic’ man who always tries to find his way into every administration.
“Raila is irrelevant in the political discourse because every election cycle, he loses and finds his way into government. He wants to be in government but doesn’t want responsibility,” Gachagua revealed.
