The  Chief Defense Forces boss Francis Ogolla once tried to resign from the military but his move was rejected

The Chief Defense Forces boss Francis Ogolla once tried to resign from the military but his move was rejected.

An undated video of the later Chief Defense Forces boss Francis Ogolla narrating how his resignation from the military was denied has emerged.

The video was from the funeral service of the Air Force Commandant Lieutenant General Nick Leshan who died in 2021.

Ogolla said the late Leshan advised him not to resign adding he had the potential to lead the Air Force.

“In 1998, I resigned, and as Protocol requires I was taken to him( Leshan) for an interview.

I thought the interview would be 10 minutes and he would sign my papers. He talked to me for three hours.

He told me I had the potential to be the Air Force Commander, he told me to go back and work.

I took back my resignation letter and left.”

“20 years later I was promoted to be the Air Force Commander. I remembered his words, My wife and I drove all the way to Narok and thanked his for his vision and wisdom.

He then talked to me for 3 hours. He gave me a heap of books as we left and told me he was glad I listened to him.”
