Raila Odinga asks President William Ruto to clear General Ogolla over the involvement in the 2022 election saga

Raila Odinga asks President William Ruto to clear General Ogolla over the involvement in the 2022 election saga.

Speaking during the memorial service of General Ogolla Raila Odinga requested Ruto to clear allegations flying around about the General’s involvement with the 2022 General Elections at the Bomas of Kenya.

“Before we put the General to rest, your Excellency I want us to remove the stigma because I knew this man very well,”

“General Ogolla would never have contemplated or thought about going to Bomas of Kenya to force Mr Chebukati to alter the results of the last General Elections.”

Further, Former prime minister Raila Odinga called for a special probe into the tragic KDF chopper crash that claimed the lives of 10 ranking military officials, including Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla.

Raila observed that rumours were flying around over the tragic death.

To put the speculation to rest, Raila called on President William Ruto to form a special team to investigate the matter.

“Rumours are flying around. We want them to rest and this can only happen if there is a thorough investigation to tell us the cause and how the plane came down,” said Raila.

Raila also called on the government to inspect the equipment and infrastructure banked on by the military.

He noted that plane crashes had become rampant in recent years, raising the question of the suitability of the aircraft used by the men and women in the forces.

“This is also time to take a relook into the equipment of our military; there have been so many of these crashes. We want to put this to an end so that we can save the lives of our people,” he said.

Ogolla will be laid to rest at his native home in Alego Usonga, Siaya County.

Another of his wishes was that he be laid to rest within 72 hours after his death.

Ogolla perished in a tragic KDF chopper crash alongside nine others.

The CDF and his entourage were in the bandit-stricken north rift region on a working tour.

He is survived by his wife Aileen Ogolla, and his two children, Lorna Ogolla and Joel.
