EDITOR'S REVIEW "You can't be the one bullying people for two years and then, when you're mentioned for one week, you disappear into the forest." Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has slammed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua after he claimed that a section of Rift Valley leaders were interfering with Mt Kenya politics. Speaking on Wednesday, May 29 at the Bomas of Kenya, Sakaja wondered why the Deputy President was crying foul accusing him of intimidating other leaders in the past. “Don’t try and intimidate us. we are unbwogable. You can't be the one bullying people for two years and then, when you're mentioned for one week, you disappear into the forest,” said Sakaja. The Nairobi governor asked DP Gachagua to respect other leaders if he also wants to be respected equally. Sakaja said he was elected by the people of Nairobi as the governor and no one should claim he put him on the seat. I was elected by the people of Nairobi,” he stated. Sakaja further claimed that Embakasi North MP James Gakuya is being sponsored as a project against his Nairobi County UDA chairperson bid. “The person I am competing with is not a candidate, he is a project by some people,” Sakaja claimed. DP Gachagua has been having a tense relationship with Governor Sakaja and has openly said he monitors how the Nairobi County affairs are being managed. On April 27, DP Gachagua said he keeps tabs on Nairobi County to ensure it thrives. "We have homes and families here. If Nairobi is not thriving we will not be happy. So nobody should question our interest in Nairobi because this is the capital city. We will continue working together with the county," Gachagua said.

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff now says he will not be intimidated following a raid on his radio station after banning Muguka in his county

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff now says he will not be intimidated following a raid on his radio station after banning Muguka in his county.

Speaking on Wednesday, May 29 after his Radio Station Rahma FM was raided Abdulswamad said the government will not strip the dignity of Mombasa locals.

“Here on the coast, if it’s not the issues of drugs, it Muguka. This won’t end, no matter how much we discuss it, intimidation will not work. You can take away everything, but you will never ever strip our dignity from us,” said Abdulswamad.

The Mombasa Governor’s radio station was raided by alleged KRA officers on Wednesday morning over alleged tax arrears.

Abdulswamad was forced to step in to stop the two officers from taking equipment from the radio station.

“You came here, and everyone I have spoken to says they are not aware of any arrears. If you have been sent to harass us, we are going to take this matter even further. If it’s Muguka causing these issues, to make you think we will be intimidated, we will continue,” the Mombasa Governor stated.

The Head of State also disclosed that he agreed with the three governors to convene a meeting of political leaders of the affected counties next week.

“Governors Abulswamad Nassir, Gideon Mungaro, and Governor Mwadime have agreed to participate in a meeting of all stakeholders to be convened by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock this week as was agreed with the leadership of Embu County on Monday,” said Ruto.
