Governor Mutua and Kingi Set To Join Ruto’s Camp Kenya Kwanza after damping dumping Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition.

Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party leader and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi may be preparing to exit Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalition if his latest utterances and moves are anything go by.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula broke the news welcoming the two governors to Kenya Kwanza noting that their energy will guarantee the alliance a winning vote.

“Congratulations Maendeleo Chap Chap and PAA political parties for joining the Kenya Kwanza Alliance Coalition.

“Your entry brings in additional energy and guarantees, even more, KKA’s assured victory in the August 9th General elections. Hongera,” Wetangula wrote on his Twitter handle.

PAA and MCC have since written to the Office of Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) seeking to exit the Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Party.

Mutua on Friday, May 6, 2022, accused ORPP and the Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalition party of denying his outfit a copy of the Azimio coalition agreement that was signed by over 26 political parties that constitute the political formation.

“The registrar of political parties (ORPP) and Azimio coalition party have refused to give us a copy of the Azimio coalition agreement deposited with the ORPP we signed to form the coalition,” Mutua said.

Meanwhile, Mutua is set to address the media this morning (Monday, May 9) at 9:30 am to “set the record straight”.

“To clear the air and set the record straight, Maendeleo Chap Chap Party will this morning hold a press conference at 9:30 am in Nairobi at the Brazilian Rodizio, also known as Edu’s Bar,” he wrote on his social media accounts.

Mutua had also stated that his party will move to court to demand a copy of the coalition document.

“It is unfortunate that we are in a coalition relationship whose members have to go to court to get what is their automatic right. What games are they playing?” he posed.
