HELB issues notice to students over error on its mobile application

Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has issued a notice to students experiencing difficulties accessing services through its mobile application.
The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has issued a notice to students experiencing difficulties accessing services through its mobile application.
In a statement on Monday, July 7, HELB acknowledged that some users attempting to log into the app have encountered a message stating that their national ID is already activated on another device.
The board has assured affected students that the issue is being addressed and that support is available to assist with resolving it.
“Seeing an error on the HELB App that your National ID is already activated on another device? Don’t worry! Just send us a direct message with your registered phone number and National ID, and we’ll assist you in getting it resolved quickly,” HELB said.
The difficulty comes days after HELB announced a 72-hour downtime for the Higher Education Financing Portal.
In a statement dated Thursday, July 2, the board stated that the system was undergoing maintenance.
HELB explained that the maintenance was aimed at improving services as KCSE 2024 candidates plan to apply for the loans.
