Mother of businesswoman, Ann Njoroge linked with KSh 17b oil import surprised how her daughter is ‘filthy rich’.

Pauline Wanjiru Njoroge, the mother of businesswoman Anne Njeri, who is suspected of being involved for the KSh 17 billion oil importation, has shared details about her firstborn daughter.

Although Wanjiru and her daughter have been communicating over the phone, she revealed that she hasn’t seen her in almost six years.

The 71-year-old grandma revealed she last talked with Njeri four months ago.

She said she has been begging her to visit her to no avail.

Wanjiru, who lives in a two-bedroom wooden house, disclosed that her daughter dropped out of school in Form One.

She said the mother of five helped her when needed, but she did not know she was rich.

“I don’t know whether she’s rich or not. What I know is that she tells me she runs businesses in Dubai, and I cannot tell exactly what she does for a living,” Wanjiru said.

Ann Njoroge has been embroiled in a tussle with the government over the ownership of KSh17 billion oil consignment.

On Tuesday, Ann Njeri Njoroge produced more documents to back her claim to the 100,000 metric tons of diesel imported from Turkey, a day after KPA feigned ignorance about the deal.

On Monday, KPA top managers led by the chairman issued a statement dismissing Njeri’s account, claiming that her documents were a forgery.

Tayari claimed that the bill of lading Njeri was peddling as the documents for the importation of the 100,000 metric tonnes of diesel from Turkey were not genuine.

He also denied claims that the woman had been to the port to process the importation documents for the oil in question imported by Ann’s Import and Export Company.

However, Ann Njoroge through her lawyers claimed “The documents KPA produced are doctored. She never gave them the originals. We have mentioned top government officials and DCI officers she met, and none has denied,” said Ombeta.
