Raila Odinga travels to the UK for ‘business, rest and relaxation’ according to his communication department.
Azimio leader Raila Odinga on Friday night left for the UK for a one-week business and personal trip.
Denis Onyango, a spokesman for Raila, said that during the trip, the ODM leader would interact with friends, family, and business partners.
“He will also use his stay in the UK to rest and relax, which he doesn’t do enough back at home,” he said.
Raila is expected back in Nairobi at the end of next week.
However, it was not immediately clear if Raila will give speeches during his trip to the UK.
Raila leaves the country after stirring a political storm by unleashing a scathing verbal attack on US Ambassador Meg Whitman over the 2022 presidential election remarks.

Before departing the country, Raila bumped into Delaware Senator Chris Coons who met President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi on Friday, August 18.
In a statement, Raila expressed gratitude to Senator Coons for his friendship and support over the years and made a commitment to visit him soon.
He also noted that the Delaware senator is a true patriot.
“Our paths crossed again last night with my friend Senator Chris Coons heading home to the US while I left for the United Kingdom.
“We wished each other safe flights, hoping to see each other again. Always a pleasure Chris,” Raila stated, minutes after leaving the country.
