Azimio Coalition Leader Raila Odinga will be in South Africa for a week-long working tour.

In a statement from his spokesman Dennis Onyango, the former Prime Minister departed the country on Friday.

Raila is scheduled to assess the Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa Priority Action Plan 2’s current state while in South Africa (PIDA-PAP2).

“Odinga will fly to South Africa and conduct a series of meetings in his capacity as the African Union Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa,” read part of the statement.

PIDA-PAP 2 consists of several strategic projects proposed by Regional Economic Communities and AU member States for implementation by 2030.

Raila will also have meetings with a number of South African leaders from the commercial, nonprofit, and governmental sectors.

On January 31, Raila is also scheduled to fly out to  Nigeria, where he would deliver the keynote address at the 14th annual Leadership Conference and Awards in Abuja.

He was selected to give the speech due to his desire for democracy as well as a free and fair election.

Furthermore, Raila was recognized for his dream of Africa’s liberation from poverty through good leadership.

“The theme of this year’s conference, which is coincidentally taking place at a time the country is going into the general election, resonates well with Odinga’s sustained clamor for free, fair, credible, and hitch-free election,” stated the conference organizers.
