Johnson Sakaja arrested, his counsel team blocked from accessing the DCI headquarters

Johnson Sakaja arrested by detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday, June 17.

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has been arrested by detectives from the DCI.

However, the reason his arrest has not yet been established.

Reports indicate Sakaja was arrested by four DCI officers from his office at Riverside where he had just concluded a campaign meeting with the Kamba community.

His lawyers are said to be camping outside the DCI headquarters after being denied entry.

Kamotho Adrian, one of his lawyers claimed that they were temporarily blocked from accessing the DCI headquarters.

“Yes, he has been arrested from Riverside and we are outside the gate after being denied access to accompany our client. They are taking the political adventure too far,” Kamotho said.

They were however allowed access after a few minutes of push and pull.

Prior to the arrest, dared DC boss George Kinoti to arrest him following reports that detectives are pursuing him for alleged involvement in forgery.

Kinoti had told Nation Africa that Sakaja and administrators at Team University in Uganda were being investigated over the degree certificate.
