Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka shows up at protests staged by LSK against President Ruto over his onslaught on the Judiciary.

Kalonzo showed up on Friday, January 12 wearing full legal regalia including the traditional robes and blonde judicial wig.

The former Vice President was received at the Supreme Court of Kenya in Nairobi Central Business District by lawyers and members of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).

His attendance demonstrated support for LSK’s demand for nonviolent demonstrations in response to President William Ruto’s ongoing attacks on the judiciary.

Kalonzo and other Kenyans are expected to march from the Supreme Court Grounds in Nairobi, traveling along Parliament Road to the Office of the President.

His presence is likely to boost his political image as he angles himself to battle for the top seat in 2027.

Kalonzo’s Presence comes after LSK invited members of the public to join members of the legal community in calling out President Ruto for his utterances, which they insist amount to an attack on the independence of the third arm of government.

“Join the Law Society of Kenya as we peacefully protest this Friday and reaffirm the commitment to defend the independence of the Judiciary and compliance with Court orders,” LSK stated.

Speaking on Thursday, January 11, LSK President Eric Theuri further threatened to impeach President Ruto for violation of the constitution.

“The Constitution allows us to approach the High Court when there is a threat to violation of the Constitution to consider whether the current scenario raises enough threats of violation for the Constitution for us to move to court and seek the declaration that the President has violated the Constitution…as you know one of the grounds for impeachment is a violation of the Constitution,” he stated.

LSK also formed a team to review possible violations of the Constitution by President Ruto.
