Kalonzo Missing from IEBC Shortlist for Presidential Candidates
Kalonzo missing from IEBC shortlist of 16 candidates shortlisted for the August presidential election.
Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyoka is missing from the list of 16 candidates shortlisted for the presidency released on 27, May by IEBC.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission released the names of the 16 shortlisted candidates.
Of the 16 shortlisted, 8 are vying on political parties’ tickets while the other 8 are seeking the top seat as independent candidates.
Those vying on political parties’ tickets include Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria ( Usawa Kwa Wote Party), George Wajackoya (Roots Party), Ekuru Aukot (Thirdway Alliance), Jimi Wanjigi (Safina Party) Njeru Kathangu (Ford Asili) and David Mwaura Wahiga (Agano Party).
Those shortlisted as Independents are Gibson Ngaruiya Ng’ang’a, Dorothy Kemunto Nyangori, Peter Mubiko King’ori, Jeremiah Nyaga, Jane Juliet Munyoki, Faith Wairimu Ngigi, Eliud Muthiora Kariara, and George Munyotta Kamau.

However, Kalonzo’s name is missing on the list despite announcing his presidential bid and submitting signatures.
It has now been revealed that Kalonzo did not present the list of his supporters in a recommended format risks being kicked out of the ballot on August 9.
The wiper leader is said to be using a word document instead of Microsoft excel to present their names.
Kalonzo now becomes one of the four political party candidates and nine independents who failed to meet the IEBC’s demand of 2,000 supporters from at least 24 counties in the country.
Meanwhile, Kalonzo might be on his return to Azimio, and reports allege he might announce his return on Monday, May 30.
Kalonzo supporters and Wiper aspirants had been putting pressure on him to return to Azimio and back the Odinga-Martha Karua ticket.
