Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has accused Kenya Kwanza-allied leaders of orchestrating chaos to frustrate the opposition’s tour of Kakamega.

In a statement on Thursday, July 3, Kalonzo claimed their event in the town was marred by attempts to block their progress.

“We have just wrapped up Kakamega. #WanTam’s experts sent goons to block us, but they faced the brave and patriotic Gen Z front who stood razor tall,” he said.

Kalonzo condemned the alleged acts of sabotage, warning that such tactics should not be tolerated.

“To the experts, we say this: primitive politics of fear and sabotage must end,” he stated.

In a message to the residents of Western Kenya, Kalonzo expressed solidarity with the region, assuring them of the opposition’s commitment to champion their interests.

“To the people of Western, you deserve better. Know that The United Opposition walks with you together,” he added.

Kalonzo was accompanied by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, DAP-K Party leader Eugene Wamalwa and other leaders.

On the first day of their tour, the leaders held roadside rallies in Luanda and Mbale, both in Vihiga County, as well as Kakamega town.

“Kakamega “Sheywe”, the headquarter of Mulembe Nation has roared in support of the people’s movement #WanTam to restore the country’s lost hope, end extrajudicial killings, tribalism, corruption and other ills orchestrated by KK. Thank you my brothers and sisters of Kakamega,” Wamalwa said.

On his part, Gachagua said;

“Kakamega Town in Kakamega County has come together in one voice to declare that extrajudicial killings, abductions, and corruption must come to a halt.

“As a nation governed by the rule of law, it is heartening to see the residents of Kakamega in their numbers yearning for positive change and standing firm in their call for justice and integrity. Together, we will build a safer, fairer, and more transparent Kenya.”
