Kanini Kega, East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP ejected from the Jubilee Party meeting.

East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega has been thrown out of a political meeting held at the National Museum Centre.

The former Kieni MP was jolted out of the meeting by rowdy youths said to be allied with embattled Jubilee secretary general, Jeremiah Kioni.

The youths argued that the former lawmaker should have been serving the country in Arusha, Tanzania.

Speaking after the incident, Kega who has since pledged allegiance to President William Ruto and DP Rigathi Gachagua, accused Kioni of masterminding his ejection.

“We have never seen something like this. This is not the Jubilee we know,” he complained.

He claimed that the incident was orchestrated by intolerant leaders within the retired President Uhuru Kenyatta-led party.

Kega claimed that his ejection from the meeting was well-planned ahead of time by those he accused of not being able to entertain democratic values.

He charged at the former Ndaragwa MP for wrecking the party which is already facing internal leadership problems.

“I was invited to the meeting on accounts that I’m the Acting Secretary General of the Jubilee Party and the Director of Elections within the party,” Kega explained.

He wondered why the youth would chase away leaders from an event that is meant to discuss democracy in the country.

“Jubilee Party was having 170 Members of Parliament, but in the last election, we reduced our membership in the National Assembly to 28,” Kega claimed.

While maintaining the claims that he was the legitimate Jubilee Party Secretary General, Kega warned Kioni that he risks facing serious disciplinary actions.

Kega stated that the Jubilee Party lost over 1,000 seats due to poor leadership that did not care about the ordinary members.

He urged ordinary members of the Jubilee Party to ensure that they do not let their political outfit to fall in the wrong hands of the people who do not care about them.

“The behaviour that we have seen today of the former Secretary General to bring along goons to come and disrupt an internationally covered function is totally unacceptable and demeaning to our party,” Kega noted.
