Karua-Ida rally in Kisii ended prematurely after a teargas explosion as Martha Karua was taking to the podium.
Azimio Presidential running mate Martha Karua and Mama Ida Odinga held a women’s event at Gusii Stadium, Kisii County on 30, June.
They were accompanied by other women leaders including Homa Bay Woman Representative among other leaders.
However, there were dramatic scenes as Karua was forced to exit the podium after a tear gas explosion.
Karua had only taken to the podium to address the rally when the explosion occurred.
She was forced to exit and walk back to her car leaving the venue of the meeting without addressing supporters.
Earlier on antI-riot police lobbed teargas canisters at rowdy youth occasioning running battles during the Karua-Ida rally.
The chaotic incident was occasioned by a supremacy battle between Kisii Governor James Ongwae and Dagoretti MP Simba Arati.

Kisii County Governor James Ongwae had earlier warned Arati, not to set foot at the function.
