Police launch manhunt for KCSE candidate who hacked his elder brother to death over food dispute at their home.
A manhunt has been launched by Bondo police for a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate who is alleged to have killed his brother in a dispute over food at their home in Maranda village.
According to Kennedy Amolo, a local administrator, the 18-year-old boy, a student at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga secondary school, attacked his elder brother on Sunday night after supper.
Amollo said the suspect prepared food, which they took together, and then an alteration occurred leading to a fight.

“He hacked his bother using a sharp object on the neck, killing him on the spot. According to relatives, they first had a verbal argument over food,” said Amollo.
He said police were notified of the incident and launched immediate investigations after the suspect fled the scene.
“He is at large, his whereabouts remain unknown but officers have seized up the matter and his arrest is just a moment away,” said the administrator.
The body was taken to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examinations.
The suspect was due to sit for the 2023 KCSE examination.
