Brigadier Paul Njuguna assumes office as the new Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) spokesman.
Brigadier Paul Njuguna has officially assumed office as the new Chief of Strategic Communications in the Kenya Defence Forces.
The KDF named Brig Njuguna the new spokesman on July 26, succeeding his predecessor, Brigadier Zipporah Kioko.
The changes were announced by the Defence Council.
Following the official change of assignment, Brig Kioko has taken over Brig Njuguna’s former office as Directorof Corporate Communications at National Defence University-Kenya, Colonel Broadcast Production Col T A Mwanga said in a dispatch on Wednesday.
“Following the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) postings, promotions and appointments, Brigadier Paul Njuguna officially assumed office on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from his predecessor, Brigadier Zipporah Kioko.
“Brigadier Njuguna brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the office of Strategic Communications, having previously served as the Colonel Public Affairs and KDF spokesperson,” he said.

Brig Njuguna has also previously worked as the AMISOM (now ATMIS) Force spokesperson.
Until his naming as the new KDF spokesman, Brig Njuguna had served in the National Defence University-Kenya’s Directorate of Corporate Communications since 2020.
He was moved to the directorate in 2020 after leaving the post of KDF spokesperson which he held from 2018.
“As he assumes office in the vital role, the media is assured of continuous collaboration towards informing the public of KDF’s undertakings within the country, in the region and beyond,” Col Twanga said.
