KPLC (Kenya Power) issues an update on the restoration of power following the national blackout in several parts of the country

KPLC (Kenya Power) issues an update on the restoration of power following the national blackout in several parts of the country.

In a statement issued at 2200hrs, the utility company said it was working on the restoration of power in the remaining parts of the country.

Kenya Power reported that sections of Nyanza, Western, Mt Kenya, and North Rift were on electricity supply.

The company asked for patience as it worked to restore power on the remaining areas.

In an earlier statement, KPLC confirmed power outage had affected most parts of the country.

The company was yet to establish the cause of the power outage by the time of going to the press.

“We have lost power supply to parts of the country. Our engineers are working to restore supply to the affected areas,” Kenya Power said.

“We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience caused. An update on restoration progress and cause of the power outage will be issued later.”

Most parts of the country faced a power blackout from around 7:30 PM.

The issues saw several Kenyans take to social media to raise concern on the matter.
