In a statement dated Thursday, June 26, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs maintained that Kenya was only interested in facilitating peace in the war-torn country.
According to the Kenyan government, the accusations by the army were reckless.
“Kenya considers the continued and unsubstantiated allegations by the SAF administration to be not only regrettable but also inconsistent with the principles of good neighbourliness and mutual respect that underpin the Charter of the United Nations and the Constitutive Act of the African Union.
“Such reckless actions risk undermining regional peace and stability, and are unbecoming of the fraternal Pan-African relations traditionally shared among states in the region,” read the statement in part.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the army needed to reach a peace resolution with the other warring factions instead of deflecting responsibility.
“Unfortunately, no amount of scapegoating or repeated blaming of other states will alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people,” read the statement in part.

“It is time for the parties to the conflict in Sudan to assume full responsibility and commit to restoring civilian rule, peace, and security for the benefit of the Sudanese people and the wider region.”
Sudan’s army has on numerous occasions accused Kenya of backing the Rapid Support Forces, which is led by Hamdan Dagalo, who has visited Kenya on a number of occasions.
According to the army, some Kenyan-labelled arms and ammunition were found during an operation in a camp belonging to the RSF.
“Kenya has been one of the main conduits of the Emirati military supplies to the terrorist RSF militia,” Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted in an earlier statement.
“Instead of explaining this grave violation of international law and the principle of good neighbourhood by his government, the Spokesperson(Isaac Mwaura) sought to justify the UAE’s complicity in the RSF’s war of terror against the Sudanese people by alleging that certain countries are helping SAF. These allegations are unfounded.”
