The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) has released a list of all approved books for CBC classes and Grade 9.
In the list released on Friday, January 3, KICD also listed the publishers and expected prices of the books.
The subjects listed for Grade 9 include Agriculture, Integrated Science, Creative Activities, Social Studies, English, Mathematics and religious studies.
For instance, the listed books for Mathematics were; Mentor Mathematics Learner’s Book (Ksh673), Choice Mathematics Learner’s Book (Ksh830), Spotlight Mathematics (Ksh860), and Top Scholar Mathematics (Ksh460).
Access Mathematics (Ksh895), Active Mathematics (Ksh780), Master Mathematics (Ksh490) and Longhorn Mathematics (Ksh800).
Apart from student textbooks, guidebooks for teachers and tutors were also listed.

Parents and teachers were advised to visit the KICD website for the listed books. One can also access the list through the link: https://kicd.ac.ke/cbc-materials/approved-grade-4-cbc-course-materials/.
How to Get Discounted Prices
KICD noted that stakeholders could get the books at discounted prices at the KICD bookshop in Nairobi.
The bookshop is located along Desai Road, off Muranga Road near Ngara.
“Visit the KICD bookshop for discounted prices on Curriculum Designs & Approved Textbooks! Whether you’re a teacher, parent, or learner, we have everything you need to excel in learning.” read the statement in part.
