The town of Bobasi in Kisii County descended into chaos as angry locals took to the streets to express their outrage at the claimed planned attacks on Governor Simba Arati, which are allegedly masterminded by South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro.

The enraged protesters demanded the immediate arrest of MP Osoro

“Osoro has gone rogue. he is attacking every peaceful gathering in South Mugirango because he is a leader. we are calling him to order. We are asking the Inspector General of Police, President William Ruto, and all security agencies to expeditiously investigate what happened in Nyakembene,” said a resident.

Chanting the legislator’s name, they set a symbolic coffin on fire in the middle of the road to express their displeasure.

Women wept as the violent demonstration continued, and it took police involvement for the dramatic scene to end.

This comes after Gov Simba Arati was recently attacked while in a meeting to discuss the allocation of bursaries.

After the attack, Arati revealed that the attack was planned by South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro.

However, Osoro absolved himself of the allegations, linking their differences to the politics of 2027.

“It is an unfortunate scene. We need to be politically tolerant and understand that campaigns are very far,” he said.

Even after making an earnest appeal for political tolerance, the purported assault has sparked criticism from leaders who accuse the MP of instigating disorder during a serene gathering.
