Klopp confirms huge Liverpool injury blow ahead of West Ham game
Klopp confirms huge Liverpool injury blow ahead of West Ham game after beating Manchester City.
Diogo Jota, who was injured late against Manchester City, won’t play against West Ham United on Wednesday night, according to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
However, the Reds will enter the match with a lot of confidence after a precious 1-0 victory against rival Manchester City at the weekend.
Given that Jurgen Klopp’s team was missing some of its important players, notably Naby Keita and the Colombian Luis Dáz, as well as Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was able to play until the final few minutes, the manner of the victory was pretty impressive.
Klopp confirms Liverpool injury blow
One of the heroes of the victory over Pep Guardiola’s team, Diego Jota, was carted off late in the match, and Jurgen Klopp has admitted he is unsure of how long the Portuguese star will be out.
The German manager however confirmed the game against West Ham would be soon to have him back.
Klopp told reporters: “I wish I didn’t have to talk about it. There’s not a lot of contact and maybe the muscle got overstretched. Now we have to wait to see how bad it is.”
Klopp himself is still waiting to find out from the Premier League board whether he would be allowed to be on the touchline for the West Ham game after being sent off against City.
But he would be delighted that his striker Mohamed Salah was on the score sheet again and showed his best form of the campaign so far.
Another Liverpool player who was impressive was Virgil van Dijk, the Dutch defender’s form had been a huge cause for concern- but against City, he was back to his best and Klopp will be delighted with that.
