KNEC issues new five guidelines on ongoing KCPE and KCSE 2023 registration to all candidates

KNEC issues new five guidelines on ongoing KCPE and KCSE 2023 registration to all candidates.

The new regulations were released by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) for the ongoing registration of the KCSE, KCPE, and qualifying test examinations in 2023.

The Council asked all candidates to enter their names in the same order as they appear on their birth certificates in a statement released on Monday, February 13.

Before listing the exact subjects they registered for, individuals should also include their correct gender and year of birth.

In addition, if the applicant has any particular requirements or disabilities, they must provide this information in accordance with the many categories they may fall under, such as physical, hearing, or visual impairments.

The mandatory registration commenced on February 1, 2023, and will run until March 30, 2023.

However, the Council affirmed that there would be no late registration for the national examinations.

According to KNEC, the KCSE Qualifying Test (QT) is a test aimed at measuring a candidate’s ability to sit for the KCSE examination.

The examination targets candidates with a primary certificate other than KCPE as well as those with a foreign primary certificate received after less than eight years of primary school education.

The online registration of the exam is undertaken at the office of the County Director of Education.

Recently, KNEC CEO David Njeng’ere directed school principals to fill out the registration forms on behalf of the candidates and surrender the documents to the Council.

He added that no candidate would sit their exams if they were not registered.

“Registration of candidates is the first step towards administering an exam. Every centre has two months to make sure that all the candidates are registered,” Njeng’ere stated during the release of the 2022 KCSE results on January 20, 2023.

According to the Ministry of Education, KCPE will be held between November 6, 2023, and November 9, 2023, while KCSE candidates would sit their exams between November 10, 2023, and December 1, 2023.
