KUCCPS announces application deadline for KMTC courses

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has notified Form Four leavers that they can still apply for Kenya Medical Training College courses through the KUCCPS portal.

In a notice on Tuesday, October 14, the placement service emphasized that applications for 28 diploma and certificate courses, including nursing programmes, remain open with a deadline set for today, October 14.

The notice revealed that prospective students can access the application portal at students.kuccps.ac.ke.

The application fee has been set at Ksh 1,500 for all the available programmes.

“Attention Form Four Leavers! Did you know that you can still apply for KMTC courses via the KUCCPS portal,” the placement service stated in a social media post.

The notice specifically highlighted that a diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing is available at KMTC Molo, Taveta and Trans Mara campuses, with other KMTC programmes also accessible through the online application system.

The application window comes as KUCCPS intensifies preparations for the 2025 student placement cycle.

On October 8, KUCCPS directed higher learning institutions to submit their available courses and admission capacities through the online placement system.

In a statement addressed to Vice-Chancellors and Principals of University Colleges, KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Wahome instructed institutions to upload their academic programmes as part of the Declaration of Programmes and Capacities process.

This exercise forms the foundation for matching students from the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education class and previous candidates to various universities and colleges across the country.

Wahome emphasized that the declared programmes must be those currently offered by institutions and duly accredited by the Commission for University Education, or by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority for TVET programmes.

In addition to universities, KUCCPS has issued similar communication to Principals of National Polytechnics, Technical and Vocational Colleges, Technical Training Institutes, Institutes of Technology, and Secondary Teacher Training Colleges.

The agency has also reached out to the Kenya Medical Training College, requesting it to submit its approved programmes and available slots for inclusion in the KUCCPS online placement system.

Wahome further confirmed that the Kenya School of Law has been included in this year’s placement preparations following the successful listing of its Diploma in Law (Paralegal Studies) programme, which was fully subscribed after being offered through KUCCPS for the first time.

The declaration period for institutions to submit their courses and capacities began on Monday, October 6, and will continue until Thursday, October 31.
