KUCCPS opens applications for primary teacher education diploma course in a Teachers Training College (TTC).

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced limited slots for Kenyans seeking to apply for a primary teacher education course in a Teachers Training College (TTC).

The placement service in a notice dated Wednesday, July 9, revealed that the limited slots were available at the Eldas Teacher Training College, which is located in Wajir County.

According to KUCCPS, those seeking to apply for the limited slots must have obtained a minimum requirement of C (plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

In its announcement, the placement service clarified that the slots in the primary teacher education course were part of the ongoing application for the September 2025 intake.

Candidates interested in the course were directed to apply through the KCCPS online students’ portal: students.kuccps.net 

“Course alert. Diploma in Primary Teacher Education. Eldas Teacher Training College in Wajir County announces limited vacancies in its Diploma in Primary Teacher Education Programme for the September 2025 intake,” KUCCPS announced.

“Entry Requirement: KCSE Mean Grade of C (plain). Apply online through the KUCCPS Student’s Portal, students.kuccps.net. Vacancies are filled as applications are received,” it added.

While calling for applications, KUCCPS stated that the application window would remain open for the next ten days, with the portal expected to close on July 18.

The latest announcement comes a week after Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba released the KUCCPS course application results for the 2025 cycle.

Addressing the press on Tuesday, July 1, Ogmaba revealed that over 50,000 students who sat for last year’s KCSE examinations qualified for university and college placement.

This also comes against the backdrop of the ongoing application for the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) September 2025 intake. 

The application portal for the KMTC courses was officially opened on June 24 for candidates who missed placement but are interested in pursuing a medical course.
