DCI publishes the list of the FOUR most wanted terrorists in Kenya linked to the recent attacks in the Coastal region.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation published the identities of four individuals linked to the recent attacks in the Coastal County of Lamu.

The four suspects are allegedly responsible for organizing and planning the recent terror strikes that shook the county, according to a DCI statement dated Friday, January 13.

DCI urged Kenyans to contribute information that could aid in the capture of the suspects, claiming that they were well-trained and deadly.

“The DCI is appealing to members of the public to volunteer information that may lead to the arrest of the following terror suspects, linked to the Alshabab terror network and responsible for the recent attacks in Lamu County.

“The suspects who are trained, armed and dangerous have been linked to several acts of terror that have occurred in the country in the past. Members of the public are asked to provide information that may lead to their arrest,” the DCI statement read in part.

The suspects, according to DCI, are Ramadhan Kioko, Abdullahi Banati, Maalim Ayman, and Abdikadir Mohamed Abdikadir.

In the recent attack believed to have been planned by the outlawed group, several houses were torched and residents injured in a dawn attack in Lamu.

The Lamu Port South Sudan – Ethiopia Transport (LAPSSET) corridor project was one of the government-sponsored initiatives that the terror group has targeted in the region.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) expressed its condolences to the families of the three engineers who died in a terrorism-related incident in Bura East Sub County in Garissa on Thursday, January 12.

“The KeNHA board, management, and staff condole with the bereaved families and stands with them in prayer wishing them the Almighty’s strength during this difficult period,” read part of the statement.

The area police bosses confirmed the incident assuring the families that they had launched a manhunt to arrest the suspects.

To scale up the war against terror, US Government announced a Ksh1.2 billion bounty to anyone with information on those responsible for the January 2019 Dusit D2 attack.
