Malala alleges govt plot to deploy goons in Nairobi CBD ahead of Gachagua return

The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Leader, Cleophas Malala, has alleged a well-orchestrated plan by the government to deploy goons in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) on Thursday, August 21.

According to Malala, the scheme to deploy goons was agreed upon during a supposed night meeting between Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.

Addressing the press on Wednesday afternoon, Malala claimed the goons would be dispatched to disrupt the peaceful procession by DCP supporters receiving their party leader, Rigathi Gachagua, upon his arrival from the United States.

The former Kakamega Senator further revealed the government’s intention to execute the plan through a section of politicians, including two Members of Parliament.

He further alleged that the two lawmakers reportedly instructed the goons to harm Kenyans, destroy people’s property and loot businesses situated within the city.

“We have been informed that the Nairobi County Governor and Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen held several meetings and have activated their state-sponsored goons to cause harm to innocent citizens,” Malala alleged.

“This is done in connection with George Aladwa and the Dagoretti North MP, Beatrice Elachi. The duo have expressed instructions to the goons to loot, destroy property and harm people,” he added.

While warning Sakaja and Murkomen against the deployment of goons, Malala called on the Nairobi business community to come out and protect their property.

During the presser, Malala also addressed claims of the government’s plan to divert former Deputy President Gachagua’s flight to land either in Kisumu or Mombasa.

According to the former United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General, regardless of the diversion, Gachagua would still be received by huge crowds in the respective cities.

Malala disclosed that DCP had already made adequate plans and logistics should the former DP’s flight get diverted by the government.

The DCP Deputy Party leader’s remarks come just hours before Gachagua arrives in the country. As per reports, the former DP is expected to land at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at around 2 pm on Thursday, August 21.
