The suspect, a boda boda rider only identified as Robert, is currently recuperating at the Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital under tight police surveillance.

According to the victims’ mother, the incident occurred while she was away at work on Thursday. She works as a food seller who makes deliveries.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the mother recounted noticing the suspect’s motorcycle outside her home while making deliveries and assumed that her two sons were in good hands.

She continued her work, making tea deliveries, before briefly stopping by her residence to restock on supplies and use the washroom.

She then returned to her workplace and called the suspect to ask what he would like for lunch, planning to deliver his and her sons’ meals after completing her deliveries.

While doing this, two of her other children arrived at her workplace, informing her that the two kids at home were crying and in bad condition, unable to be moved.

“I asked them where the father was and they told me that he had gone to pick a client. I was feeling restless, so I asked my co-worker to hold fort as I rushed home,” the boys’ mother said.

When she got home, she found her two children suffering from severe diarrhea and crying. There was excrement all over the house.

The woman alerted her neighbors, who rushed the two boys to hospital. Confused and worried, she hurried there on her own, only to find out that the boys’ father had also been admitted at the same facility.

Unfortunately, the two boys passed away while receiving treatment. Their bodies are currently at the Nakuru Hospital mortuary as police question their father.
