Police launch investigations after a man stabs stepdaughter to death before committing suicide in Kitengela.
Police in Kitengela, Kajiado County are investigating an incident where a man stabbed her stepdaughter to death and later died by suicide on Sunday night.
According to the police, the 16-year-old girl had gone to the man’s house to pick up a phone when the incident occurred.
Police say that a few minutes after the girl arrived at the house, the 55-year-old man is said to have attacked the secondary school girl with a kitchen knife, and stabbed her several times.
The man later used the same weapon to stab himself to death.

A neighbour who heard the commotion called the police from a nearby Kitengela police station who arrived at the scene immediately.
The officers found two bodies lying in a pool of blood inside the bedroom at a two-roomed rented house. The officers also found a letter two sharp knives, and a hammer.
Police said the girl had severe stubbed wounds at the back, abdomen, left breast, and several head injuries suspected to have been caused by a sharp object, the body also had several visible defensive marks.
Before he committed the murder, the man had written a letter, accusing his wife of infidelity.
