Man surrenders to police over murder of his wife in suspected love triangle in Bungoma
A man surrendered to police, confessing he had murdered his wife at their matrimonial home in Bungoma County, police said.
The man walked to the Busia police station, more than 100 kilometres away from the primary scene and told police he had killed his wife, Metrine Wandera, 25, over claims he found her in a love triangle incident with another man on their matrimonial bed on February 11, 2026.
The man in the saga managed to escape the scene.
The assailant told police he bludgeoned his wife before escaping in fear of being attacked by a mob.
Police in Busia detained him pending interrogation and other procedures.
He was later moved to Bungoma pending arraignment, Western regional police commander Issa Mohamud said.

An autopsy was planned on the body of the woman as part of the probe into the incident, police said.
In a different incident, police identified the body of a man whose body had been found abandoned on the roadside in Mabariri, Nyamira county.
He was identified as Anthony Gai, 37, who was a boda boda rider in the area.
The motive of the murder which happened on February 11, 2026, was not immediately known.
The body was preserved at a local mortuary pending an autopsy.
