According to reports, the man identified as Misati Obongo, 70, was arrested on Tuesday and locked up at Ramasha police cells in Masaba South in Kisii
This was after he allegedly killed his wife at their home.
He’s said to have stabbed his wife Carren Nyanduko, 67, at their home in the Bonyameyio area in Ibacho.
A granddaughter stumbled upon Nyanduko’s body before raising the alarm sparking a frantic search for the elderly suspect.

Police said Obongo used a pair of socks to end his life inside the police cell, a day after he was taken in for the suspected slaughter of his wife.
“An officer doing routine inspection found the body inside the cells with socks tied round his neck,” Sammy Gitau, Madsba South Police Commander said.
His body was moved to Ichuni mortuary.
