Manchester City agrees on transfer deal for an exciting signing after beating Man United
Manchester City agrees on a transfer deal for an exciting signing, Emilio Lawrence after beating Man United according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
Manchester City have now emerged as ‘favourites’ to sign Everton youngster Emilio Lawrence, and an announcement is set to be made soon.
The 16-year-old has been on the radar of the Premier League elite led by City, Man United, and Chelsea.
However, City have now won the race for Lawrence after reaching a full agreement with the player.
The attacking midfielder is regarded as one of the best young prospects after catching the eye for Everton’s under-age sides.
Lawrence made three appearances for Everton Under-21s last season and is yet to sign on for the club as a scholar and that has opened the door to a number of clubs.
The Scot scored seven goals and provided three assists in 23 games for the Under-18s last season.
Taking to Twitter, Romano confirmed that City are now in pole position to sign Lawrence this window with the announcement of his next destination expected imminently.
He wrote:
“Scottish top talent Emilio Lawrence (16) will leave Everton this summer. He has played for the U23 team last season – Manchester City are now favourites to sign him.
“Lawrence attracted interest from big six, expected to announce new club soon.”
City are renowned for having an outstanding academy set-up, and that will only be strengthened with the addition of Lawrence, who looks a fantastic long-term signing.
