Manchester City gutted as another key player edges closer to exit

Manchester City gutted as another key player edges closer to an exit after Gabriel Jesus left for Arsenal.

After losing Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal, Manchester City are on verge of losing another forward.

After months of speculation, Raheem Sterling is keen on a move to Chelsea.

And despite the arrivals of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, the loss of Jesus and Sterling could prove impactful next season for the Citizens.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s update, Raheem Sterling is keen on a move to Chelsea, with Chelsea preparing a new bid.

Taking to his personal Twitter page, Romano said: “Positive feelings around Raheem Sterling deal also tonight. Chelsea have a new bid ready, Man City are prepared to let him go as it was part of the plan – and Raheem is keen on a Chelsea move. Personal terms, already discussed. Second bid is coming. More to follow soon.”

Romano then Tweeted on Tuesday: “Chelsea will also send a new bid to Manchester City for Raheem Sterling – Tuchel wants two wingers.”

Why Manchester City will be gutted about the loss

Pep Guardiola will be losing experience in his attacking line by losing the two key players.

Last season, Jesus scored eight and eight assists while Sterling bagged 13 and five assists.

Raheem Sterling is City’s second-highest goalscorer in their history with 131 scored for the club, 129 goals behind Sergio Aguero.

Sterling’s fitness is yet another component as he’s a technical player who often goes under the radar in terms of his natural ability.

The England international’s pace cannot be matched up front, and with both the player and the club reportedly interested, Guardiola is now faced with the very real possibility that his dynamic winger could be playing for a major rival.
