Manchester City now aiming to lure £42m star to Etihad
Manchester City now aiming to lure £42m star to Etihad amid claims Liverpool have offered the player a contract.
Manchester City is now aiming to ‘lure’ Gavi away from Barcelona amid Liverpool links.
The 17-year-old is currently in talks with Barcelona, but no agreement has been reached.
Man City has now been ‘added to the mix,’ with Liverpool, PSG, and Bayern Munich allegedly ‘monitoring developments closely.’
According to The Mirror, Manchester City won’t hesitate if Gavi’s contract talks with Barcelona break down.
It adds that Man City boss Pep Guardiola is ‘closely monitoring’ Gavi’s situation.
However, Man City face competition from their premier league rivals, Liverpool.
As per Catalonian show La Porteria, Liverpool have offered the teenager four times what Barca are willing to.
That would reportedly be a ‘star’ salary of over £9m per year.
Gavi’s stock has risen even further this week after some impressive performances, and a goal, for Spain.
Liverpool appears to remain in the running for incredible young talent.
If City do enter the race though, the allure of playing for Barca legend Guardiola may be too good for Gavi to turn down.
Gavi has a release clause of £42m and has just a year left on his deal.
