Manchester City won’t be selling Bernardo Silva to Barcelona this summer
Manchester City won’t be selling Bernardo Silva to Barcelona this summer, despite reports linking the Portuguese star with a moving way.
Pep has already allowed Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling to leave Etihad with Oleksandr Zinchenko also on move.
Reports have also been rife that Bernardo Silva could be on a move to Barcelona this summer transfer.
However, it appears Guardiola will not allow his squad to be weakened further by the departure of Silva despite claims from his homeland.
Silva, 27, has been one of City’s most influential players over the past few seasons, but it was reported last week that he was close to completing a £70 million move to the Nou Camp.
Those reports were false though, according to The Mirror, who claim that the midfielder remains a crucial part of Pep Guardiola’s plans.
The player’s agent Jorge Mendes had reportedly been given the green light to agree on a move to Catalunya, but it now appears that Silva will be staying put this summer.
The player would have been allowed to leave the club last summer for personal reasons, but Barcelona failed to find the money to secure a deal and it seems that they may have missed their chance.
Manchester City now values Silva at around £80 million.
Barca boss Xavi has made the Portuguese a key target as he looks to rebuild at the Nou Camp.
