Former Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has finally revealed her political direction, signalling a clear break from the current administration after a period of relative silence. Her recent speech at a Kikuyu ruracio in Mt Kenya confirmed her intentions ahead of the 2027 elections.

She spoke on Saturday, February 7, 2026, after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua introduced her during the traditional dowry payment ceremony for Ann and Aloise Kinyanjui, which drew political and community figures.

Omanga began by acknowledging the support she received in previous elections.

“Mimi vile His Excellency amesema naitwa Millicent Omanga. Mimi nilisimama kule Nairobi 2022. Na nawaambia asante,” she said.

Her remarks quickly turned political, signalling her continued ambitions ahead of 2027.

Sasa hamtakuwa nyinyi peke yenu. Macousins ata wetu wa Kisii,” she said.

Omanga pointed to how politicians unite supporters across regions.

Yule cousin, Bwana Kalonzo Musyoka. Si mmeona pia ameleta watu wake pamoja?” she asked.

She positioned herself as a voice for Nairobi women and grassroots projects.

Omanga also addressed economic and governance concerns directly, implicitly criticising State House.

Si mnaskia wabunge wenu wanashinda State House? Kila mtu kila wiki anapata Millioni Mbili.

Omanga later shared photos on social media, alongside former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. She captioned the post:

“He who finds a wife finds a good thing. A colourful ruracio for Ann & Aloice, graciously shared with H.E Rigathe as love, culture, and blessings unite. #MamaMiradi #MamaKanairo #MamaNiMjamo.”

The event fuels speculation about her 2027 political plans. Omanga has formally declared interest in the Nairobi Woman Representative seat and earlier asked Kenyans which party she should join.
