According to a statement released by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Naivasha Sub-County detectives apprehended Mary Chebet, a 30-year-old nanny who was the prime suspect in the investigation.
The resident of the Karai area in Naivasha was reported missing on July, 4, after her husband notified the authorities after the deceased failed to return home from Naivasha Sub-County Hospital where she worked.
Investigations were launched, and detectives zeroed in on Chebet as the prime suspect.
Under interrogation, she led the officers to the victim’s home in Karai, where she revealed her employer’s body buried in a shallow grave behind the house.

With the assistance of public health officers, the decomposing body was exhumed with pieces of clothes tightly wrapped around the victim’s neck.
Mary Chebet will remain in custody as officers finish the investigation ahead of her arraignment.
In a different arrest, Godfrey Mwasiaga Kakan Maiyo, the suspect behind a viral video inciting violence against police officers and their families was detained pending arraigned.
Detectives tracked the suspect to Kimathi House, where he operated a discreet office under the name LetaPeleka Logistics.
Similarly, law enforcement officers in Embakasi apprehended three individuals behind a godown breaking and theft at Vimit Convertors Limited, located along Mombasa Road near the SGR.
The suspects breached the facility’s security by scaling the wall and cutting through the iron sheet roof. Once inside, they targeted the offices and made off with a trove of electronics, including two laptops, a Microsoft Surface and a Razer, a Huawei iPad, and a Soundlink Mini speaker, among other valuable items.
