The Ministry of Education on Saturday, February 4, announced the conclusion of the process of reviewing requests for candidates who made applications to change their initial placement during the 2023 selection.
Candidates seeking to confirm their placement will use the official government portal to check their placement.
Upon accessing the site, the candidates will be required to follow a set of instructions as explained below.
Select the county and sub-county you sat KCPE then key in your index number and Submit
Candidates will first select the county and sub-county in which they sat the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE).
In addition, you will be required to fill in your index number at the bar provided at the top-right of the page.
Click on the link named “admission letter” at the bottom of the page for a copy of your admission letter
Upon successful submission of your details in the first step, click the admission letter option available at the bottom of the page to access your admission letter.
Use the printer icon to print or the download icon to download to your computer
Once it is opened, proceed to download it using the printer icon or the download icon available on the page. The letter will be stored on the computer. Proceed to print the letter to obtain a hard copy.

Get your primary school’s headteacher to endorse the letter and stamp it in the space provided
The candidate will later be required to get the letter stamped by the headteacher of the school you sat for your KCPE as an endorsement.
Finally, present it for admission together with a certified copy of your birth certificate at your respective school as indicated in the letter.
In an earlier statement, the Ministry confirmed that the admission date was still set for Monday, February 6 as communicated in the prior notice.
“Form One Reporting Exercise starts on Monday, February 6, 2023. Best wishes to all parents and guardians who are preparing their children for secondary school enrollment” read a statement from the ministry.
