Mukhisa Kituyi appointed spokesperson of the United Opposition
The United Opposition has appointed former United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Secretary General Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi as its spokesperson.
Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka made the announcement on Wednesday, adding that Kituyi will also serve as the Head of Secretariat.
Other United Opposition leaders, among them Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua Rigathi Gachagua and his People’s Liberation (PLP) Party counterpart Martha Karua, also confirmed the appointment.

Dr. Kituyi, UNCTAD Secretary General from 2013 to 2021, is a former Minister of Trade and Industry and long-serving legislator.
He also previously headed the Kenya Institute of Governance and was among the 2022 presidential aspirants before he dropped his bid to back the then Azimio pointman, Raila Odinga.
He studied Political Science and International Relations at Makerere University before pursuing postgraduate studies, including a PhD in Social Anthropology, at the University of Bergen in Norway.
