The body of the missing Member of Wajir County Assembly Yussuf Hussein Ahmed has been found dead.
Wajir Member of the County Assembly (MCA) Yussef Hussein Ahmed, who went missing for over one month.
The body of the Dela ward MCA who has been missing for over a month was found in Lake Yahud.
Kin of the MCA positively identified his body which was badly mutilated with eyes gorged out and nose and hands chopped off.
A missing finger that Ahmed has always had enabled the family to easily identify him. Apart from his eyes gouged out, perpetrators allegedly burnt his face to make it difficult for the family to recognize him.
A search of the MCA was active for the last few weeks but all in vain. The death of the MCA was confirmed by Idris Bulle Mohamed, a politician who noted Ahmed’s body was given to the family.
Bulle condoled with the family and cleared the air that Ahmed’s body was identified by his family. “May his soul rest in eternal peace!”
Ahmed, who was also the minority leader of Wajir County Assembly, went missing on September 13.
Family members and locals thronged the morgue to identify the body that was badly tortured and decomposed.
It was reported that the MCA was accosted by armed individuals who abducted him in Nairobi on the ill-fated night of September 13 along the Enterprise Road on his way home from South C.
During the attack, abductors took the taxi driver’s phone to remove any possibility of being traced. Nonetheless, the phone was later recovered by the driver which helped security agencies to unravel what really transpired.

After the revelation of the abduction came to light, the family of Ahmed moved to court seeking orders to have the IG produce their kin dead or alive.
In the case filed in September, the Inspector General (IG) of Police was listed as the first respondent, with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) as the second respondent.
Three days after Ahmed’s Abduction, Eldas Constituency Member of Parliament Adan Keynan on September announced that Ahmed was seen unconscious in a hospital in Migori, which turned out to be false.
Earlier, the High Court summoned the Inspector General (IG) of Police Douglas Kanja over Ahmed’s abduction to answer questions in relation to the missing MCA.
In his verdict, Justice Alexander Muteti had ruled IG Kanja to present Yussuf Ahmed in court, or else the IG to appear before Justice Muteti on Friday, September 27 to explain the MCA’s whereabouts.
