A first-year university student kills self in Kericho after being dumped by her lover according to reports.

Police report revealed that the student identified as Faith Charity Makhulu aged 19 years died after hanging herself using a manila rope suspended from the rooftop at the corridor of their residential house.

The reasons which made the student who was 9 months pregnant die by suicide could not be immediately established since no suicide note was found on her.

However, according to one of the provincial administration officers who spoke on condition of anonymity, the student hanged herself after her boyfriend allegedly dumped her.

The body of the deceased was discovered by the deceased’s mother dangling from the rooftop.

The student was suspected to have hanged herself last night when every family member had slept.

The mother raised an alarm which attracted the attention of neighbours and other members of the public who rushed to the scene and attempted to rescue the deceased but she had passed away.

The matter was later reported at Kericho Police Station where police officers rushed to the scene, removed the body and took it to Kericho Referral Hospital mortuary.

Investigations into the matter have been launched to establish the motive behind the incident.
