PS Raymond Omollo says there will be not much of the Luo rites of burial practices as dictated by traditions and customs during CDF Ogolla send-off.

Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Interior and National Coordination Raymond Omollo said it is a state burial and the military will take over, telling the locals to bear the situation.

“General Ogolla is not just the son of Alego Usonga or Siaya County not even just a Luo, he’s a CDF,” he said.

He even asked the clan members to organize themselves, those planning to eulogize him tomorrow (Sunday) should do so today (Saturday) at his father’s home.

“Even politicians, visit the family and speak to them today, tomorrow things are different,” he said.

The PS spoke during the celebration of Ogolla ‘s father Mzee Joel Oyeyo, who turned 100 years old today at his home in Nduru village.

PS Omollo said in the plan, there will be a church service for the late General at Senator Barack Obama’s primary school grounds.

Leaders who spoke at the home included ICT cabinet secretary Eliud Owalo, MPs Gideon Ochanda of Bondo, and Elisha Odhiambo of Gem amongst other leaders.

Owalo eulogized the late General as a man of few words but quick action.

“Tomorrow we’re biding farewell to a great man who attained a position no one from this community has attained,” he said.

MP Ochanda appealed to the Luo community to avoid speculations concerning the death of the CDF.

“This is a very fragile community, please let’s control our tongues, it can destroy a lot,” he said.
