The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced 50 job opportunities for fabricators in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In an advertisement on Thursday, March 27, NYS said it has scheduled a third round of interviews for the jobs on April 14, 2025.
The service noted that successful candidates will earn a monthly salary of Ksh51,087 in the UAE.
“Following a successful second round of interviews and the subsequent onboarding of our graduates by the Dubai-based company, our client has conveyed their deep appreciation for the caliber of the graduates. They have scheduled the third round of practical interviews for April 4, 2025, with the aim of selecting an additional 50 fabricators to join the team in the UAE,” read the advert in part.
NYS highlighted the duties of the fabricators will include; designing, develop, and implement fabrication processes and procedures, create and maintain detailed technical documentation, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and placement of steel structures and reinforcing bars.
The fabricators will also measure and cut steel bars to the required length using tools such as shears, torches, and saws, bend and shape steel bars using hand tools and machines, secure steel bars in concrete forms using wire clips or welds, install steel structures and reinforcing bars according to specifications and safety standards and collaborate with design engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability.

To qualify, one must be a National Youth Service graduate, have a Diploma or a Trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, and have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metalworking or machining.
The applicants are also required to have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings.
