ODM makes pledges to Kenyans in New Year message

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has promised to hold President William Ruto's government accountable in 2025

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has promised to hold President William Ruto’s government accountable in 2025.

In its New Year message dated Tuesday, December 31, ODM pledged to play its role effectively in the opposition.

Additionally, the party promised to offer solutions and alternative voices to some of the challenges facing Kenyans in the new year.

“As we look to 2025, we call upon all Kenyans to embrace hope and unity. The challenges we face can only be overcome if we stand together, putting the interests of the nation above all else,” read the message in part.

“ODM pledges to continue holding the government accountable while offering pragmatic solutions to the issues affecting our people.”

The party led by Raila Odinga also noted that Kenyans were facing several challenges including the high cost of living, adding that they were keen on finding avenues to make things better for Kenyans.

“We also take this moment to reflect on the challenges facing our country. Many Kenyans continue to grapple with the rising cost of living, unemployment, and inequalities,” read the statement in part.

“ODM remains committed to working tirelessly to ensure that every Kenyan has access to decent livelihoods, quality healthcare, and education. Our vision for a united, prosperous, and equitable Kenya remains unwavering.”

In recent months, ODM has faced criticism from a section of their Azimio allies over their recent alliance with the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Leaders such as Wiper party boss Kalonzo Musyoka have challenged ODM to publicly make their stance known on whether they still belong to the opposition.
