Okiya Omtatah moves to court to block Ann Waiguru and other top 15 Politicians from contesting in the August 9 General Election.
The Sixteen politicians could be barred from contesting for any seat in the August 9 General Election if the High Court allows a petition filed by activist Okiya Omtatah.
The human rights activist moved to court seeking to have persons with integrity issues blocked by the electoral commission from contesting in the forthcoming election.
Omtatah regretted that many people adversely mentioned in the theft of public funds had also presented themselves to the electorates seeking various positions.
In his petition, the activist argued that the legal presumption of innocence until proven guilty should not apply when it comes to the clearance of political aspirants.
Politicians who risk being locked out Should the petition sail through, 16 politicians currently on the radar of the anti-corruption over graft allegations involving a combined KSh 10 billion will be barred from contesting.
They include

2. Muthomi Njuki- Tharaka Nithi governor
3. Ali Korane-Garissa governor
4. Okoth Obado-Migori governor
5. Moses Lenolkulal- Samburu governor
6. Sospeter Ojaamong- Busia governor
7. Jonah Mburu-Lari MP
8. Pavel Oimeke-Bonchari MP
9. Rigathi Gachagu- Mathira MP
10. Aduma Owuor-Nyakach MP
11. James Gakuya- Embakasi North MP
12. Ayub Savula-Lugari MP
13. Moses Kuria- Gatundu South
14. John Waluke- Sirisia MP
15. Alfred Keter-Nandi Hills MP
16. Christopher Lang’at- Bomet senator
