Parliament denies reports over alleged nomination of Muhoho Kenyatta, Munya and Sifuna to Cabinet amid speculations of a Cabinet reshuffle.

The Clerk of the National Assembly, Samuel Njoroge, has flagged a letter circulating on social media regarding purported nominations to the Cabinet.

In a statement dated Wednesday, March 12, the clerk noted that the letter was fake.

He, therefore, called on Kenyans to ignore the letter as President William Ruto had not made any communication to Parliament on changes to the Cabinet.

The fake letter had alleged that Muhoho Kenyatta and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna were among those lined up for Cabinet slots.

Former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and Peter Munya were also named in the fake letter.

“The Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly has taken note of a letter circulating on various social media platforms purporting to announce the nomination of several individuals, including Prof. Makau Mutua, Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi, Ambassador Dr. Koki Muli, Hon. Edwin Sifuna, Hon. Fred Matiang’i, Mr. Muhoho Kenyatta, and Hon. Peter Munya, to unspecified positions.

“We wish to categorically state that the said letter is fraudulent, misleading, and does not originate from the National Assembly or any of its authorized offices. No such nominations have been made, and the document should be treated with the contempt it deserves.”

Notably, the letter emerged amid speculations of a Cabinet reshuffle owing to the recent pact between ODM and UDA.

Earlier, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah, while on an interview on Al Jazeera, hinted that Ruto would also fire Public Service CS Justin Muturi.

Ruto has also not nominated anyone to the Gender docket.
