Passengers of a Guardian Angel bus were forced to flee to safety after the bus burst into flames along Waiyaki Way.

The incident occurred on Monday, April 28, at the Gitaru Interchange.

From the photos shared by eyewitnesses, the most affected area was the right side near the rear tyres, suggesting that the fire may have started there.

As a result, the vehicle was filled with smoke, forcing the passengers to flee to safety.

“A Guardian Angel bus caught fire at Gitaru Kikuyu after the wheels got jammed. Firefighters have responded positively. No casualties reported,” Ras Wa Naivasha reported on Facebook.

The cause of the fire is yet to be known, however, at the time of publication, firefighters were at the scene to tame the fire.

Police were also at the scene to commence investigations and direct the flow of traffic, given that the road had been blocked when the firefighters were putting out the fire.

No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.

The bus company is yet to issue a statement on the incident.
